Dear friends and colleagues,
It is an honour and a great pleasure to invite you to join us in Glasgow for the 15th annual EANO meeting which will take place from 10 – 13 September 2020.
The Scientific Committee has paid close attention to feedback from previous meetings and to the rapidly evolving landscape of neuro-oncology research to develop a highly multi-disciplinary programme that we are confident will be of interest to the full spectrum of EANO members. As usual, the conference will kick off with an Education Day on 10th September and the main program will commence on Friday 11th September.
Invited speakers from across the globe will present the latest clinical trial outcomes and highlight key advances in basic and translational science. Key clinical themes of the Glasgow 2020 meeting will include experimental and combination therapies, the latest radiation oncology technologies, neurosurgical precision tools and advanced imaging modalities. These will synergise with our scientific themes, which include experimental models, radiation biology, advanced imaging, multilayer diagnostics and tumour heterogeneity.
Glasgow is now firmly established as a ‘first choice’ city for international conferences and events. Boasting a rich heritage of science, medicine and innovation, the city is also steeped in history and culture and in 2019 was named as the ‘Cultural and Creative Capital of the UK’ by the European Commission. The same report also rated Glasgow as the best UK city for ‘openness, tolerance and trust’. Home to Scottish Opera, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Ballet, Glasgow is a UNESCO City of Music as well as an international leader in contemporary art and design.
The city is on the doorstep of some of the world’s most beautiful scenery, with tranquil lochs, towering mountains, ancient castles, world renowned golf courses, captivating whisky distilleries and scenic Hebridean islands all within an hour’s journey from the city. Within the city you will find elegant Victorian, Art Nouveau and modernist architecture; verdant parks, gardens and rivers; and a wealth of affordable, atmospheric and innovative restaurants and bars.
We are delighted to welcome you to EANO 2020 and hope you will take the opportunity to extend your stay and experience a magical and memorable taste of Scotland.
