EANO Youngsters SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
Aim
To involve young clinicians and scientist in neuro-Oncology at a very early state in the European Society of Neuro-Oncology (EANO). The young EANO members should be encouraged to actively participate in the EANO conference and activities to become active, long lasting members of EANO.
Target group
The activities of the EANO Youngster Committee target young EANO members at the beginning of their career development. The activities of the EANO Youngster Committee shall provide career development offers and a platform for exchange and networking. To this end, educational activities such as congress sessions and meetings shall be organized to further knowledge and skills in multidisciplinary clinical Neurooncology and research methodology (basic, translational, clinical). These activities of the EANO Youngster Committee targets particularly EANO members under the age of 35.
Committee
All members of the EANO Youngster Committee have to be active EANO members (according to membership definition as defined in the EANO statutes). EANO Youngster Committee members are expected to actively participate in the committee, bring in ideas and projects as well as attend the activities of the committee. The mandates of committee members are held for two years and are renewable by the board until the age of 35 at nomination.
The EANO Youngster Committee consists of up to 10 members and should be composed of representatives from geographic regions and disciplines relevant to neuro-oncology. Further, the EANO Youngster Committee should address equal distribution in age and gender.
The term of the EANO Youngster Committee is 2 year. A member of the EANO Youngster Committee can be re-nominated for the committee until reaching the age limit or leaving the committee after 2 terms as chair. Every 2 years (during the Face to Face meeting at EANO conference), the committee members are nominated based on fulfilling the nomination criteria (age limit, active participation) for the next term.
Chair
The committee is represented by a chair elected by the EANO Youngster Committee members for a 2-year term and approved by the Executive Board. The chair can be re-elected once and has to leave the committee when stepping down from the chair position. The chair of the EANO Youngster Committee represents the committee in the EANO general board.
Further, the EANO Youngster Committee has an internal co-chair. The co-chair is also elected by the EANO Youngster Committee members for a 2-year term. The co-chair can be re-elected once and has to leave the committee when stepping down from the co-chair position unless he/she is elected as a chair (in this case the maximum number of terms as a chair and co-chair is two).
Application and nomination process
Open positions on the EANO Youngster Committee should be identified one year in advance to initiate a call for the committee among the young EANO members. Application for the EANO Youngster Committee is project-based. Therefore interested youngsters, who are EANO members, are asked to turn in an application form containing the following information:
1) Short description about applicant/ Curriculum vitae

3) What particular project applicant would initiate for young EANO members?
